MEDIA ADVISORY – IMF Annual Meetings October 2025

The 2025 International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings will be held in Washington D.C. during the week of October 13–17, 2025. While most main events will take place during the main week of the Meetings, several releases and high-level events have been scheduled for the week of October 3.

IMF Managing Director’s Annual Meetings Curtain Raiser Speech

Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will deliver her Curtain Raiser speech in person on Wednesday, October 8, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am ET (14:00 GMT) at the Milken Institute, in Washington, DC. The speech will focus on the outlook for the global economy and key policy priorities. It will be followed by a fireside chat with Mr. Michael Milken, Chairman of the Milken Institute, highlighting the agenda and key goals for the IMF Annual Meetings to be held in Washington, DC, the following week. This event will be live streamed on IMF Live.

On October 3 at 10:00 a.m. ET, at Atlantic Council headquarters, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will launch a chapter from the forthcoming World Economic Outlook that analyzes the impact of the resurgence of industrial policy.
