IMF Launches WEO and GFSR chapters on Emerging Market Resilience and Sovereign Debt Dynamics – October 6, 2025

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will launch two analytical chapters from its flagship reports:
- World Economic Outlook (WEO) Chapter 2: “Emerging Market Resilience: Good Luck or Good Policies?”
- Global Financial Stability Report (GFSR) Chapter 3: “Global Shocks, Local Markets: The Changing Landscape of Emerging Market Sovereign Debt”
These chapters explore how emerging markets have weathered recent global financial shocks and assess the evolving risks in sovereign debt markets. The analysis highlights the role of stronger policy frameworks in enhancing resilience and managing trade-offs amid rising fiscal pressures.
